This is a 100% beginner, learn-to-sew class for adults. No experience needed, no judgment, just you and a machine figuring it out together (with help).
This class is for you if…
- you've got a machine sitting in the closet judging you,
- you want to buy one but aren't sure you're ready to commit,
- you took home-ec decades ago and remember none of it,
- you just want to start sewing, now, with someone walking you through it.
Your project: a quilted sunglasses case. Small project, real skills, and you walk out with something you actually made and use.
In this class you'll…
- learn to thread and operate your machine properly,
- pick up the habits that make every future project easier,
- sew a straight stitch, backstitch, and turn a corner without cursing (much),
- quilt your layers together, maybe sew a curved seam,
- press your seams like you mean it.
Come in knowing nothing, leave able to sew a straight line and quilt a small project start to finish. Everything after this gets easier.
Skill Level: Novice – Familiar with the basics of a sewing machine, but little or no sewing experience.
